Rotting Christ
Jan. 26th, 2020 02:41 amSo, yesterday I've been to Rotting Christ concert.
Rotting Christ is for some reason one of the most popular Greek bands, and I saw them for the first time.
And God they are awful. It is definitely the most mediocre band I've ever seen. Some people believe that Russian rock is the worst thing ever happened to music, but I would have preferred to go to a concert of any Russian rock band instead of their gig.
I have absolutely no idea who listens to such type of music and why are they so popular they play all over Europe and even USA (they are embarking on a US tour in a few months, really). Fucking unbelivable. Mediocre, disgusting and ridiculous band, that's what they are. Fucking clowns.
And here is the best part: today I'm going to their second concert lol - as I didn't expect them to be so bad, I've bought the ticket for the second show in advance, since the tickets were very cheap anyway (€14), because they are a local band.
And yeah, I think I'll have to go, because I'm very greedy and I don't want to lose my money by throwing this second ticket into the garbage bin lol. Although it costs almost nothing. Will have to drink a lot of beer, I guess. Probably the beer will cost me even more than this fucking ticket. But not much to do anyway.
In fact, that show I went to yesterday was scheduled for November 13th, and they were going to play with a Portuguese band Moonspell, and the show was sold out, but then we had a storm, and they couldn't take a ferry from Italy to Athens in time, and so the concert was rescheduled to January, and the second date was added, but Moonspell couldn't make it anyway, so both concerts became the solo gigs of this Rotting Christ. Fucking crazy story, yeah.
On the bright (well, questionably bright in this case) side, I've caught a guitar pick of the band which played as their support, Scar Of The Sun. Well, now when I think about it, I don't even know which band is worse, Rotting Christ or this Scar Of The Sun (I will have to write their name down in order not to forget it). At least Scar Of The Sun were throwing these guitar picks, Rotting Christ didn't - only drumsticks which flew to the center of the venue while I was in the first row as usual. Way to start a year, in any case.
