yannisSo, it is safe to say that autumn began today here in Athens, right on the first day of November.
On Sunday the clocks were moved backwards, so now sunset happens earlier than half past five.
Well, it is pretty depressing on it's own, but yesterday the temperature fell dramatically, and Athens also experienced rains and thunderstorms throughout the day.
Meanwhile in the evening I went to Apocalyptica concert because why not. Eight fucking years passed after I've seen them the previous time in 2011. The ticket said doors were going to be open at 7, but in fact they were open at 8. Due to this shit I was literally the seventh person in the line so I made it to the first row without any problem. I was not really planning to.
It was a little bit funny, everybody was wearing trousers and jackets while I was wearing t-shirt and shorts. And also there were some "zombies" etc on metro trains due to Halloween. But not that many really, Halloween in Greece is certainly not as popular as it is in Scandinavia or Germany. I'm not sure if I've seen a single pumpkin or other such kind of decoration in the city, while Copenhagen or Cologne or Helsinki were overloaded with such stuff when I visited them during Halloween. Dear memories.
And as for today, today we had +18C at best, and a strong wind. So, time to forget about t-shirts and shorts.
And at six o'clock it was completely dark.
Fucking hell, really depressing.
Especially considering the year ago it was sunny and +25C, according to my LJ.
And it seems that temperature won't rise significantly this year, so the summer is basically over, quite abruptly, in just one day.
Wow.
And I thought that not only the summer is over, but the decade is over, too.
In two months the new decade will begin, the 20s.
And the 10s will be forever in the past. Just another part of history nobody gives a shit about, doomed to be forgotten and despised, doomed to rot in the heads of those who lived through all these years until all of us die and there will be no witnesses, only written and filmed memories in the attic of history, memories nobody will be able to understand and revive, ancient forgotten disgusting epoch, suitable only to be mocked and ridiculed. People desering only contempt, traditions deserving only oblivion.
Wow, just to think about that.
