yannisSo, today I've been at Μουσείο Μπενάκη. They measure their visitors' temperature, as does ΕΜΣΤ. Aside from that, only large bottles of sanitiser on every floor and stickers remind of COVID-19. Not much to tell, really.
The city center remains empty, as if lockdown never ended. Street musicians, artists, beggars etc all dissapeared, since without tourists their actions makes little sense, they may play their bouzoukies as long as they want, it will provide no income for them.
However, since yesterday Greece is an "open" country, so tourists from almost all countries of EU may come here - of course, if they are ready to be humiliated by presenting their "samples" and wearing masks all the time. As for me, I'm absolutely nor ready to sacrifice my dignity this way. Fuck you. You either turn everything back to normal, or go fuck yourself. I'm totally not travelling in such conditions.
By the way, my mailbox is being bombarded by offers of all airline companies I have ever been travelling with. This happens for the second week in a row, sometimes I receive only one letter a day, sometimes as many as five. Some offer discounts up to 50%, others go as far as offering absolutely free places for children.
But no, fuck you.
No travelling until everything turns back to normal.
Yesterday, on the first day of Greece's "openness", more than 200 air arrivals from European countries were expected, but they had to cancel half of them in the last moment.
They basically sell tickets till the last minute, and in the last minute it turns out they had sold only two tickets on the flight, so they cancel the flight and give the passengers tickets for another flight, for which they had sold three tickets.
Fucking morons.
Meanwhile, stores offer discounts up to 80%, and cafes, tavernas and restaurants remain 2/3 empty (in the best case).
I've seen some foreign tourists today, though, but not so many.
