Η μεγαλύτερη νύχτα του χρόνου
Dec. 22nd, 2019 05:10 amSo, the longest night of the year is coming to an end, and here, in Greece, it is considered the official beginning of Winter.
But the day is still 9 hours 31 minutes long, not as in the fucking North, so why bother.
Yesterday was a sunny day, with temperature up to +20C, so maybe I put my shorts away too early. Today we expect the same, only it will be probably more cloudy, with a thunderstorm in the evening, but after that the temperature should fall gradually from day to day, and on Christmas it will be +16C, while during the nights it will even fall below +10C. So it will be a real Winter by local standards.
Speaking of Christmas, this time it seems not as great as a year ago for some reason. Less luminous decorations and less Christmas trees, as it seems to me. Well, at least in the area I reside. Some artifical Christmas trees from the previous Christmas are being reused in the city center, they just changed their location. Well, it may seem funny to recognize Christmas trees from a year ago, but is it really.
Also, there are less concerts and performances, especially free ones in SNFCC lol, so yeah, everything seems worse than in 2018.
I've attended two more concerts, The Stranglers and Hooverphonic, both back to back in FuzzClub, and they also don't have a Christmas tree at the back of the venue they had the previous December. Kinda sad. But at least I've been at 70 concerts this year. I have a strong feeling I won't have enough money the next year to repeat this feat.
So the year and the decade are certainly ending on a sad note.
What else to say... This year I've seen a few spots where they sell natural Christmas trees here. A year ago I somehow missed them out. Christmas trees are sold here with their base being nailed to a small wooden cross giving the tree stability, as they do it in Scandinavia, by the way.
So yeah, everything is fucking awful, the only good thing is high temperature, good weather and the absence of fucking snow and ice.
Also a few days ago I watched a movie, for the first and obviously for the last time this year, although this sad art house piece of shit can barely pass as a movie, but meh whatever.
