I always despised and hated so called Russian "culture", and especially modern Russian "culture", and especially its "establishment", and Nikita Mikhalkov was probably one of the figures of this establishment I hated the most; every time I saw or even heard about this guy, I felt indescribable disgust.
So it's strange to think that today, on the 3rd of May 2020, thousands of miles and years away from Russia, I watched nearly an hour long episode of his TV-show. If someone had told me even two months ago that I would willingly watch this, I would have probably burst out laughing, but here I am, in May of 2020, watching this "Besogon" show.
So yeah it's quite a strange world we live in now.
I can admid he says some stupid and wrong things which I can not agree, but during our times it's certainly better than nothing or than many things other people in his position say and do.
He is also manipulative sometimes, but again, compared to the Western cultural establishment, there is absolutely nothing you can complain about.
